  • Mindfulness

“Mindfulness: Allowing Us to Embrace and More Fully Appreciate … Well, Just about Everything!” at Jackson Public Library on Thursday, February 15th, at 7:00 PM The Friends of Jackson Public Library invite you to a program on “Mindfulness” to be held on Thursday, February 15th, at 7 pm, at the Jackson Public Library. The program is open to the public at no charge. Over the 50 years that (psychologist) Jason Roth has counseled people, he has come to learn a few things about what people feel is important in order to live a more fulfilled, content and joyful life.  “Mindfulness” is one of those pop terms that has been frequently bandied about over the past few years.  In a light and humorous presentation, Jason will look at what “mindfulness” represents — ways each of us can enhance our openness to the wonder of being more fully present and connected to ourselves and the people who matter to us.   There will be no fancy terminology or unnecessary long words … only some common sense ways of enhancing our enjoyment and more fully basking in the delights the moments of each day bring.   Jason and his wife Cheryl live in Nova Scotia but have been winter residents in Jackson for the past thirteen years.  (Step aside Florida — how’s that for a new twist on the concept “Going South for the winter”!) Jason fully cherishes his time in and connection to Jackson and is delighted for the opportunity to be able to give a wee something back to his adopted community. For more details, call (603) 383-9731.

  • Melanie Barash Levitt

Join impressionist painter Melanie Barash Levitt for a talk and demo as she builds up a landscape painting in oils with a palette knife/brush and talks about her process. Melanie graduated  from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1990. She currently lives in Jackson, New Hampshire and is the owner of Jackson Art Studio & Gallery. Melanie is an award winning artist who paints in a loose, impressionistic style with a brush or a palette knife. She exhibits her work in galleries and juried shows throughout NH, ME, VT and NY.
