  • Garden Conversation Club

    Tuesday, April 23 @ 5 p.m.

    Do you love gardening? Do you want to learn more about gardening? Do you love to talk about gardening? Then JPL has a new program for you, The Garden Conversation Club! Join other garden fans at JPL to talk all things gardening. This is a casual low key opportunity to gather and chat. All levels of experience and interest are welcome. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, April 23 at 5 p.m.  Our April topics include seed starting and garden prep. Feel free to bring seeds to swap, share, or add to our new seed library.

    Ready, Set, Library!

    Monday, April 8: Right to Read Day is a National Day of Action in support of the right to read. The State of America’s Libraries Report is released, including Top Ten Most Challenged Books of 2023. #RightToReadDay

    Tuesday, April 9: National Library Workers Day, a day for everyone to recognize the valuable contributions made by library workers. #NLWD24

    Thursday, April 11: Take Action for Libraries Day, a day for all library advocates to affirm their participation in 2024 elections. #TakeActionForLibraries

  • Closed due to snow.

    Due to the winter storm the Jackson Public Library will be closed on Thursday, April 4.  We plan to be open again for our normal hours on Friday, April 5 from 2 – 5 p.m.

    A family program for youth ages 8+ and accompanying adults

    Join 4-H at the Jackson Public Library for a fun family robotics program!

    You and your child will spend quality time together building Scrappy Bots-simple robots made from scraps of reused and recycled junk, small motors, and switches. There will be opportunities to learn new skills and have fun designing unique creations in the context of a supportive group. No experience with robotics necessary!   • Animals in Winter

    Squam Lakes Natural Science Center presents Animas in Winter, a live animal program
    Jackson Public Library – Friday, March 8 at 4:30 p.m.

    Winter means cold, ice, snow, and shorter days. How do New Hampshire animals survive these
    conditions? Join a naturalist from Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, along with two live
    animals up close to find out about various successful adaptations they use to cope with the
    stresses of winter.
    Visiting animals may include porcupine, Great Horned Owl, opossum, skunk, woodchuck,
    Eastern Screech Owl, turtles, or hawks.
    This program presented at no cost to the community and open to all with generous support from
    the Friends of Jackson Public Library
